Book Review - Create with Maisy: A Maisy First Arts-and-Crafts Book

About the Book
Let Maisy show you how! Easy, safe, and fun, these craft projects for the very young were put together and photographed by Lucy Cousins herself. Why does Maisy keep a Big Box of Everything, filled with glitter, sequins, foil, stickers, paint, brushes, paper, and tons more stuff? Because she loves to make things! Children as young as two will be thrilled to follow her lead, thanks to a brand-new Maisy format featuring both familiar illustrations and photographs by Lucy Cousins. Here are crystal-clear steps for creating seventeen simple crafts, highlighted by photos of the end result. Enjoy making things from painted pebbles to paper lanterns, food collages to feathered masks, and wax-relief paintings to wonderful vegetable animals. As spectacular looking as it is hands-on, here is an activity book sure to please parents as much as it does Maisy?s little fans.

My Take on the Book
If you love to work on projects with your child at home or if you are searching for the perfect gift for a child's birthday or holiday which utilizes their love of arts and crafts, you will love this book by Lucy Cousins. Lucy's book if full of easy to make projects and most of them use materials you may already have around your house. If you don't currently have the materials, they could easily be found at any art and craft store or other store which carries craft materials.

The book is child centered with easy to follow directions and illustrations for either step by step or/and the finished project. This book holds hours of creative fun for you and your special child.

As a gift , my thought was it could be given with a bag full of supplies so that the child can begin to make the projects. Just think of the joy you would bring to a child who loves to create with such a useful gift.

I encourage you to seriously think about this book as one to keep as a resource for those days you are looking for a perfect activity indoors.
