Authorities say a Central Florida man allegedly killed two people, then drove to the victim's mother's home and asked for money while one of the victims was in the trunk of his car.
Craig Lede was charged Friday with two counts of premeditated murder. He is being held without bail.
Hernando County Sheriff's officials say Lede confessed to beating Dana Nelson and John Ketsemidis with a bat earlier this week because they owed him money. He went to Ketsemidis' mother's home to try to obtain money.
She called police after not hearing from her son for a few days. Authorities went to Lede's home to question him and saw a body wrapped in a blanket on the garage floor.
Sheriff Al Nienh said prescription drug abuse contributed to the deaths.
